We have new leaders on the Quacking for Books LEADER BOARD!!! This week 2-3 takes the lead with 491 chain links!! 4-5 is right behind with 483 links, k-1 has 186 links, 6-8 has 117 links and 9-12 has 16 links.
There are only TWO WEEKS left in the challenge! Please encourage your kids to read, read, read!!

This week's reading challenge LEADERS are still the 4th and 5th graders!! They are NINE chain links ahead of the 2nd and 3rd grade!! 4/5 - 399, 2/3-390, K/1-154, 6/8 -107 and 9/12- 16. The contest ENDS on Friday, May 1st!! Just THREE more school weeks. Please encourage your child to keep reading and let's keep lengthening that chain!!

Finding Your Future Dialogue. Yakutat was the spotlight in this month's Alaska Family Engagement Center website! We had an event on February 24th where the 4th and 5th grade families joined to "Plan for the future"!

We have a new leader on the Quacking for Books Reading Challenge!! Grades 4/5 have 352 chain links!! Close behind them 2/3 has 295 links, next is K1 with 130 chain links. The junior high 102 links and the high school has 11. Please keep encouraging your kids to read, read, read!!

In an effort to get the junior high and high school reading more for the Reading Challenge, we have an online reading log! Mrs Ivers made each student a book mark with a QR code. All your child has to do is read for 30 minutes, log on with the QR code, record book and time. If they tell you what they read, they get another chain link for our school wide competition. Please encourage your child to read. It can be a book, magazine, online article, graphic novel, picture book to a young one, if they are reading, it counts! #readingisimportant #quackingforbookschallenge #parentsmakeadifferenceintheirchildseducation
