On 9/20 Middle School students enjoyed creating animal cells with jello and candies. Some of our cells fell apart but we had a lot of fun using candy to represent all of the important elements that make an animal cell. Of course, eating it afterward may have been the best part.

Don't forget to air out your middle school students when the weather is nice! 😅 Middle schoolers enjoyed a field trip on Tuesday collecting specimens from nature. By using what they learned about dichotomous keys, students then divided their finds into what they believed were categories that best described what they found. The goal was to understand what types of questions scientists ask themselves when naming living things that are found.
